Claude Corps Fellowship 2027: $85,000 Paid AI Fellowship at US Nonprofits

What Is Claude Corps?

Claude Corps is a 12-month paid fellowship that places early-career people who are skilled with AI tools inside mission-driven nonprofits across the United States. Fellows work full-time on real AI projects. Examples include making intake processes faster, finding insights in data, or building tools that give staff more time to help people directly.

The program is a partnership between three organisations:

• Anthropic (the company behind Claude) funds the program, leads strategy and provides Claude expertise
• CodePath, a national tech education nonprofit, recruits, trains and employs the fellows
• Social Finance manages the funding and measures impact

Host nonprofits work in areas like workforce development, public health, housing, food security, veterans' services and education.

The program plans to support 1,000 fellows across three cohorts.

Important Dates

• Cohort 2 starts: 8 March 2027, with an in-person Basecamp week from 22–26 March
• Cohort 3 starts: August 2027, with applications opening at the end of September 2026
• Deadline: no fixed deadline, as applications are reviewed on a rolling basis
• Duration: 12 months, full-time

Who Can Apply?

• Aged 18 or older by the start date
• Authorised to work in the US for the full 12 months without visa sponsorship
• No degree required, and people who built their skills outside traditional routes are welcome
• Early in your career, such as finishing school, leaving military service, or in your first full-time job
• No coding background needed, but you should already use AI tools in your daily life or work
• Willing to relocate if your host nonprofit is in another city
• Not enrolled in a full-time study program during the fellowship

Important: no visa sponsorship is offered. Student visas (F-1 CPT, OPT, STEM OPT), TN and H-1B1 do not qualify.

2. Complete two free online courses: AI Fluency and Claude 101.
3. Answer two short questions: one about community impact and one about learning from a setback.

Selection steps:

1. Take-home assessment with realistic AI tasks
2. 25-minute video call with a recruiter
3. Final round of two short video interviews
4. Matching interviews with two or three host nonprofits

• In your answers, share a real story about helping your community.
• Be honest about a setback and what you learned from it.
• Show how you already use AI tools to solve everyday problems.
