What Is the Fortis Fellowship?
The Fortis Fellowship is how new members join the Fortis Society, a global community of people from humble beginnings who want to make a big, positive impact on the world.
Over five months, fellows take part in monthly virtual sessions, are paired with a mentor, and join professional learning workshops. The fellowship ends with in-person cohort programming and the Fortis Summit in Medellín, Colombia. After completing it, fellows become lifetime members of the Society.
The fellowship is built for busy people with demanding jobs. It asks for only 2–4 hours a month of virtual sessions and mentorship.

Who Can Apply?
- Anyone from humble beginnings with the ambition to make a significant, positive impact
- People from all countries, with special outreach to Latin America this year
- No degree needed: there is no education requirement
- People from any sector, with applicants from the arts, education, government and healthcare strongly encouraged
- Any career stage, though most fellows have 1–5 years of full-time work experience
- No nomination or institutional endorsement is needed

How to Apply
The application takes about 2–3 hours. You'll need:
- Your resume or portfolio
- Three short written responses
- A two-minute video introducing yourself
Shortlisted candidates are invited to a virtual interview with the recruitment committee, and a guide is shared in advance. Every applicant receives a final answer.
