JSK Journalism Fellowships 2027–28 at Stanford University ($135,000 Stipend)

The John S. Knight (JSK) Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University offer a $135,000 stipend, tuition and health insurance for a nine-month fellowship in California. Open to US and international journalists. Apply by 2 December 2026.

What Is the JSK Fellowship?

The John S. Knight (JSK) Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University are among the most respected fellowships in journalism. Each year a small group of journalists and journalism leaders from around the world spend nine months at Stanford, exploring a big question or challenge facing journalism.

You don't need a finished project. Instead, fellows come with a question they can't stop thinking about, such as how to rebuild trust in news, reach new audiences or keep journalists safe. They use Stanford's classes, experts and resources to explore it.
