University of Melbourne Undergraduate Admissions 2027 for International Students

International students can now apply for undergraduate study at the University of Melbourne, Australia, for 2027. Applicants are automatically considered for scholarships, including a 20% fee remission. Apply by 30 November 2026.

What Is This Opportunity?

The University of Melbourne, Australia's top-ranked university, is accepting applications from international students for its Bachelor's degrees starting in 2027.

As a bonus, every eligible applicant is automatically considered for scholarships when they apply. This includes the Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship, which gives a fee remission to top students from lower-income countries.

Important Dates

  • Semester 1, 2027 (February/March start): apply by 30 November 2026
  • Semester 2, 2027 (July start): apply by 31 May 2027
  • Late applications may be accepted if places are still available, but they aren't guaranteed and leave less time for your visa.

Who Can Apply?

  • International students who have finished, or are finishing, secondary school, such as A-Levels, IB, or a national high school certificate
  • Students completing a foundation studies program
  • Applicants who meet the subject prerequisites and English language requirements for their chosen course

You can apply even if you're still waiting for your final results or English test scores.

Scholarships You Can Get

Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship

  • 20% tuition fee remission for awards from 2027
  • At least 225 awards from 2027
  • For citizens of countries with a GDP per capita of US$10,000 or less, which includes many countries in Asia and Africa
  • Based on your final secondary or foundation results
  • No separate application needed: you're considered automatically when you apply for a course

You're also automatically considered for the Melbourne Chancellor's Scholarship if you're eligible.

How to Apply

Most international students apply directly:

  1. Choose up to 3 courses, in order of preference.
  2. Prepare your transcripts, predicted or final results, and English test results if you have them.
  3. Submit your application through the University of Melbourne online portal.
  4. Look out for a confirmation email with your student ID and application number.

Other routes:

  • Students with Australian Year 12 or an IB Diploma taken in Australia or New Zealand apply through VTAC for the start-year intake.
  • You can also apply through an authorised education agent. Students from some countries must use an agent for document checks.

Simple Tips

  • Apply before 30 November so you have plenty of time for your student visa.
  • Check your course page for subject prerequisites and English score requirements.
  • Strong final results matter, because scholarships are based on your final grades, not predicted ones.
  • Apply for university accommodation early, even before you get your offer.
  • Use only one application with up to three preferences. Submitting several separate applications can put your assessment on hold.
