A two-week winter camp at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, with lectures, lab tours, Chinese lessons, and cultural trips. Fellowships available. Apply by November 8, 2026.
What is the USTC International Winter Camp?
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is one of China's top universities, known especially for science and technology research. Each year, its International College runs a winter camp for international students.
Over two weeks, participants attend expert lectures, tour national laboratories, take daily Chinese language classes, and explore Chinese culture and city life in Hefei.

- Camp dates: December 19, 2026 to January 1, 2027

Who can apply?
- Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport
- Good command of English
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or master's student, or a graduate of an undergraduate or master's program who wants to continue learning at USTC
- In good physical and mental health
You can't apply if you've already joined a USTC International Winter or Summer Camp.
Program fee and funding
- Program fee: 3,000 CNY, covering tuition, shared accommodation (twin room), and field trips
- Not included: insurance and travel costs
USTC Fellowship: outstanding students may receive a fellowship that covers some or all of these:
- Travel subsidy
- Medical insurance
- Local accommodation
- Stipend

- Go to the USTC online application system.
- Register and click Start Application.
- Select Non-Degree Programs Application, then Winter Camp.
- Complete the form and upload the required documents.
- Submit before November 8, 2026.
Simple tips
- Show your interest in science, technology, or Chinese culture in your application.
- Make sure your passport is valid well beyond January 2027.
- Check Chinese visa requirements for your country early.
- Plan for travel and insurance costs in case you don't receive a full fellowship.
