FOX News Media Editorial Writer — New York (2026)

Overview

FOX News Media is hiring an Editorial Writer to support its morning-show franchise, FOX & Friends and FOX & Friends First, out of its New York newsroom. This is an experienced-hire, onsite position — not entry-level — and it's built around fast-paced, deadline-driven editorial work in a live control-room environment.

What you'd actually be doing:

• Copyediting headlines and reporter segments under deadline pressure
• Checking graphics and video against writer scripts
• Flagging important story information to producers and managers
• Pitching story ideas and developing creative angles for coverage
• Helping develop the broader writing team
• Writing effectively for video, not just print

Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 11 PM–7 AM ET, with flexibility needed for weekend overnight shifts.

Salary: $83,000–$91,000 per year, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, insurance, 401(k), and paid time off (union-represented employees follow their collective bargaining agreement instead).

Eligibility

• Major-market news experience required
• Strong news judgment and a solid grasp of current events
• Knowledge of U.S. politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live control-room environment
• Available for overnight weekday and weekend shifts
