Title: UNIDO National Data Entry & M&E Administrator — Cairo, Egypt (2026)

If you're based in Egypt and have a knack for data, spreadsheets, and keeping projects organized behind the scenes, UNIDO is hiring for a home-based consultancy role supporting its EU-funded TIGARA project in Cairo. It's a short-term gig, but a solid line for anyone looking to break into UN-level development work.

The deadline for this opportunity has passed. Check the official website to see if applications reopen, or browse other jobs.

Overview

The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is looking for a National Data Entry and Monitoring & Evaluation Administrator to support the TIGARA project — an EU-funded initiative helping Egyptian SMEs and the private sector become more competitive, modernize quality infrastructure, and push forward on digitalization.

The role sits within UNIDO's Division of MSME Competitiveness, Quality and Job Creation, and is entirely home-based, tied to the Cairo duty station.

What you'd actually be doing:

  • Keeping the TIGARA project's databases and activity trackers up to date
  • Pulling together data from staff, experts, and service providers
  • Running quality checks so the numbers are accurate and consistent
  • Tracking indicators (including gender-disaggregated data)
  • Building out monitoring tables, pivot tables, charts, and dashboards
  • Writing a final wrap-up report at the end of the assignment

Contract details:

  • 42 working days total, no expectation of renewal
  • Salary/consultancy fee isn't specified in the listing

Eligibility

  • Egyptian nationals or permanent residents of the duty-station country only
  • A Master's degree in statistics, economics, business, development studies, information management, social sciences, computer science, or something similarly relevant (a bachelor's plus strong hands-on experience can also work)
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, M&E, or project reporting
  • Genuinely comfortable in Excel — formulas, pivot tables, filtering, data cleaning, the works
  • Fluent in both English and Arabic, written and spoken
  • A plus if you've worked with UN agencies, government bodies, or EU-funded projects before

How to Apply

Apply through UNIDO's official recruitment portal only — they never charge application, processing, training, interviewing, testing, or recruitment fees.

Before you apply:

  • Lead with your M&E and data-management experience, not just general admin skills
  • Show your Excel chops with real examples — dashboards, trackers, anything you've built
  • Highlight any donor-funded or international development project experience
  • Make sure your English and Arabic fluency comes through clearly
